William O’Brien is a Bass originally from ÅŒtautahi, New Zealand.
William has performed leading opera roles in the United States, Europe and his native New Zealand. Recent roles include Figaro in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, Publio in La Clemenza di Tito, Achilla in Handel's Giulio Cesare and the titular role in Jonathan Dove's contemporary opera The Enchanted Pig.

A graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, he completed a Master of Music in Vocal Performance in 2022 under the tutelage of baritone Matthew Worth. ​
In 2023, William was awarded one of six annual placements, and a full scholarship to attend a two-year residency with the Boston University Opera Institute where he studied in the studio of Dr. Lynn Eustis. He graduated in 2025 with a post-graduate Diploma in Performance Opera and was recognised with an award from the BU College of Fine Arts for his performances.
